![]() ![]() Regardless, that's four cases recorded and solved. And when it finally seems as though Mackenzie has laid her hands on a genuine mystery, it is revealed that she is to investigate the murder of a flea and not a human being. After seeking out the dream thief Mackenzie finds herself tasked to locate Penelope's whereabouts as it turns out, she has been kidnapped by a peculiar girl called Lyndsey.īut more peculiar still is how Penelope later requests Mackenzie to make it snow so a snow fairy can find his way home, for it is summer and the only cold place in town, the Skating Rink, is about to be closed down. Unbelievable as it sounds dream thieves do exist, and they must be stopped from stealing the dreams of innocent, dreamy children - read Penelope, who has a tendency to land herself in trouble. although the term very difficult is itself open to interpretation.Īnd so Mackenzie sets to steel herself to overcome all odds. (That is how the world works, Cromwell says.) Mackenzie aims to share a position in the Great Detective Society, and to do so she must solve four very difficult cases. Nothing negative has been said about her career, but certainly nothing positive about it either, as Cromwell once said yet a decent amount of reputation has definitely been accumulated, and, in Touch Detective 1, all Mackenzie has to do to engage a case is pick up the phone. Mackenzie is finally ready to continue her father's detective legacy. Her motto: "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Mackenzie has a crush on Connor, unaware that he is the famous Cornstalker. She finds the trimming of the Item Screen attractive, and seldom harbours negative opinions about people or objects. Mackenzie finds pleasure in touching - recording how something feels to the human skin - and is highly devoted to her Touch List. To further add to a list of positive traits is her appreciative nature. Chloe would stir up a fuss says things which hardly make sense and, to Mackenzie, is perhaps a waste of her time - but when Chloe reminds her that they are best friends (and therefore ought to pay her attention!!) Mackenzie lacks the desire to refute those statements. As a detective she possesses fundamental qualities like curiosity or creativity, and has learnt never to let logic limit herself - the key to solving cases is, after all, the ability to think outside the box.ĭespite her open and accepting mind Mackenzie is rather passive, and has a habit of bottling up her frustrations and most other feelings. Yet she earns herself a respectable position in society due to her maturity and sensibility she is a sweet and pleasant child, always ready to help and listen, declining no requests regardless of how ludicrous they seem (and actually are). In an environment of bizarre characters like the air-headed Penelope or the loud, boisterous Chloe, Mackenzie's quiet demeanour might not project a very strong image, and her presence is possibly overshadowed by her more interesting counterparts. ![]() I see a few other applicants including a picture of how their characters actually look like, so here's mine. Never far from sight is her faithful pet mushroom, Funghi. But her overall appearance is rather classic, truly reflective of the humble detective. Her everyday clothes consist of a simple blue scarf, a plain jumper decorated with buttons, equally plain boots and an ever plainer white beret. Her golden hair forms a japanese bowl haircut. ![]() Point in Canon: Completion of both installments, Touch Detective 1 & Touch Detective 2 1/2Įverything about Mackenzie is ordinary and not the least bit outstanding, befitting her nature and personality. ![]()
